For Students

Urban Studies is a relatively small program offering individualized attention to all majors and minors. The Urban Studies advisor can offer specific information about the Urban Studies Program, guidance in where to find detailed information from related departments and help in choosing appropriate courses to fulfill degree requirements. All majors should consult with the advisor regularly, and particularly prior to graduation, to insure that all major requirements have been fulfilled.

Office Hours

During the academic year, the Urban Studies advisor is available on a walk-in basis and by appointment. Call 612-626-1626 for office hours. Summer hours are arranged by appointment only, and may not always be available.

Advisor

The current Urban Studies Advisor is Paula Pentel, a PhD candidate in Geography. She can be reached via e-mail at pent0006@umn.edu.

Major Program Form

All majors must file a Major Program Form.

The undergraduate advisor meets with students to fill out the offical Major Program Form. The completed Major Program Form is filed with the CLA Upper Division office in 575 Heller Hall. Or, with Honors, if students are Honors students. Major Program Forms are also kept on file by the Urban Studies Office and a copy is provided for students.
