Skills and Methods Courses

All Urban Studies majors are required to complete courses from the groups listed below. All B.A. degree candidates are expected to complete at least two Skills and Methods courses, with a minimum of 6 credits. For B.A. students, no more than one course may be drawn from groups 1 or 5.

All B.S. degree candidates are expected to complete four Skills and Methods courses, with a minimum of 12 credits. B.S. students must achieve a balance of courses taken from groups 1,2,3, and 4. Therefore, for B.S. students, no more than one course may be drawn from group 1, and no more than two courses may be drawn from Groups 2-4. Group 5 courses will not be credited toward the skills requirements of B.S. students.

Introductory Courses in Statistics and Cartography

Only one may be used to meet requirements.

Intermediate Courses in Statistics and Quantitative Analysis

No more than two may be used to meet requirements.

Applied Courses in Statistics and Quantitative Research Design

No more than two may be used to meet requirements.

Other Methods Classes

No more than two may be used to meet requirements.

Communication/Management/Participation

B.A. students may use one to fulfill requirements.
